Located in the island’s southwest is the popular and busy West Bay Beach, with a coral reef just offshore, reachable with a few minutes swim.
The cruise ships dock in two ports: Roatan Village, also known as Port of Roatan in the Bay Islands’ capital, Coxen Hole, and Mahogany Bay in the nearby village of Dixon Cove.
Mid-island is French Harbour where the mall, banks, and many other businesses are located.
To the east, there are other settlements of interest, including the Garifuna village of Punta Gorda, famous for its cuisine and culture; Oak Ridge, starting point for the mangrove tour; Paya Bay, recognized among the naturist community, and Camp Bay, the most remote and beautiful beach on the island, also the place where the kiteboard lovers practice their sport.
On the island are spoken 4 different languages such as:
- English (the native language of original Roatanian settlers)
- Spanish
- Garifuna
- Misquito
The Tour has a duration of 3 to 5 hours with different stops which are: downtown Coxen Hole, Spanish Town’s El Mirador viewpoint with 20 minutes to take photos. Visit Sandy Bay’s beaches, with 20 minutes to take photos and learn about its history. Then we will go to the Chocolate Company where you can learn all about the cocoa process and taste some delicious chocolate snippets. Next, we go to West End where you can visit a nice beach with Restaurants & Bar on the seashore where you can enjoy our local food and drinks.
This 3-hour Roatan Island tour includes:
