Visiting the Iguana Park while on Roatan is a must-do stop for all animal and reptile lovers. The highlight of the experience is petting and feeding the iguanas.
The Park staff will tell you details about the many species inhabiting the park and will accompany you to feed the green iguanas and black iguanas, as well as the Monkey Lalas and the Jesus and Blue Head Lizards. Once you have some leaves and other food that the iguanas consider tasty on your hand, the reptiles will come right at you to grab a bite.
At the park, you will also find other intriguing animals to watch and a place to buy handicrafts, gifts, and snacks.
The Iguana Park is the place where the local community and foreign visitors come together to learn about the efforts made to preserve the local species of iguana, some of them endemic to the island of Roatan that are also endangered.

NOTE: Avoid wearing yellow or green-colored shoes. The iguanas might confuse the color with their food.
